The message wizard is where you will configure custom messages to be displayed on the sign. To access the wizard click on the Wizard button.
This should open the following page:
You now have to select which action you want to perform. It can be one of the following:
- Add a new Message
- Update an exiting Message
- Remove a Message
- Assign a Message
- Unassign a Message
- Schedule when a Message is displayed
Add a new Message[edit | edit source]
To define a new message, select the "Add a new Message" action and click on the Next button. This action allows a user to define a new message template on the S2J Signs server. This does nothing on the actual FDR - it just sets a message on the server that users can then select to assign to a FDR sign.
Give the message a meaningful name, a unique tag - and then use the editor to define the message and how it will appear on the FDR message area.
Click on the Next button. Now select which devices (or all) you want the messages to be displayed on:
Once you have selected all the target devices, click on the Next button. The message will now be shown on the screen, and you will be asked to confirm activation:
Update an existing Message[edit | edit source]
This action allows you to update an existing message.
Click on Next and then select the message you would like to modify:
Click on the Next button. The next screen will allow you to modify the existing message, in a similar way to adding a new message:
Remove a Message[edit | edit source]

Click on the Next button:
Click on the Next button, then in the confirmation screen click on the Activate button to remove the message from the system.
Assign a Message[edit | edit source]
Use this action to assign a pre-defined message to one or more FDR signs.
Click on the Next button:
Click on Next to configure which devices will display the message:
If your sign has the community signage option added, you can choose not to assign the message to an FDR rating - which would then publish the message to the community signage area. If you don't have to community signage option - select the "Assign a rating to this message on these devices as well" to associate the message with an FDR rating(s).
If you select the option Replace existing messages instead of appending the message to be rotated with other messages then the message would not replace the FDR rating message, but the sign would alternate between the FDR rating message and this message. Once you have selected the devices to assign the message to click on the Next button:
This screen will show the message, as well as the signs it will be pushed to. Once you have reviewed the updates click on the Activate button to send the message to the selected signs.
Unasssign a Message[edit | edit source]
This action allows the user to remove a message from a sign it has been assigned to.
After clicking on the Next button, select the message you wish to un-assign:
Next select the sign (or signs) you wish to un-assign the message from:
Once you have selected the devices, click on the Next button:
Click on the Activate button to send this update to the selected signs.
Schedule when a Message is displayed[edit | edit source]
This action allows you to add a schedule to an existing message, which will control when the message is visible on the sign.
Click on the Next button to choose the message to attach to a schedule:
Click on the Next button to define the schedule:
Clicking on the schedule allows you to edit the start and end time and date:
